Final Fantasy XV || Expectations & Release Date

The Long-Awaited game is finally coming out!

After a decade of waiting, stalking(yes stalking), and going in and out of google in search of news about this game I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Scheduled to officially release on

September 30, 2016

, this game is riding the hype train. A lot of people, including myself, are expecting big things from this game and I hope it'll live up to it. But with all honesty, I really don't care if it does live up to the hype or not. I just want to fulfill my childhood dreams and play it! *Cough* Boasting some kick-ass, free-roam combat system and a vast open world operating within the latest gen console, this game has pulled my long lost RPG fanatic soul back on track. I can feel the excitement burning in my belly!

10 years in the making

Eh- not really.

I heard about this game back in 2006. That was waaay back when I was in friggin grade school! I've watched the first trailer from E3 and I fell in love with the game ever since. Back then, the title was

Final Fantasy Versus XIII

and I remember reading that Versus was supposed to be a spin-off from the main gun Final Fantasy 13. FFXIII? Isn't that the one where the leading character is a cutie with a pink hair named Lightning? YES, that's the one! Yeah, okay. I have a crush on her too. Big deal.

Alongside FF Versus XIII was Final Fantasy XIII: Agito. Now I don't know what exactly happened to Agito but I'm sure of one thing, it was meant for mobile devices operating under iOS and Android, and of course PSP. Duh, everyone knows that. But seriously, my friend says it's a really good game - I trust him, so I ask you guys to trust me in trusting him. And I need to get my hands on that game fast. Now back to Versus, after it's appearance in 2006 all the news following that year were about delays, technical difficulties and everything an eager beaver like myself don't want to hear.

Ghostly PS3-Exclusive

Like the sub-header suggests, it was meant to be a PS3-exclusive. Square Enix said it was only PS3 so yea, I bought the console JUST TO PLAY THE GAME. Well I didn't buy a PS3, I begged for it. And the people of earth were actually very kind to me that they bought me one. So you can imagine how frustrated I am after hearing that they were porting Versus to PS4 back in March of 2013. I was so disappointed that I stopped playing PS3 and left it in the hands of my good siblings. So much for waiting 7 years huh.

Kick-ass Gameplay

Have you guys seen the 2016 trailer of this game? If you haven't, here's a link Watch Now. Fortunately for me I don't have a PS4 yet - I'm waiting for Square Enix to drop the news that Final Fantasy XV will be released for PS5 and all resources will be ported to the next gen console. *grins* Seriously.

Jokes aside, the gameplay for Final Fantasy XV is pretty good. For me at least. I'm a person who grew up to pixelated games, with cartoonish cutscenes and turn-based combat system. Man, those were the days. And now that I look at this game, I can only say one thing: this game is going to be big. I mean, it has everything a die hard Final Fantasy fan is looking for. Well, everything except for job change.. And adding more party members. And gender change(Not that I personally WANT a gender change). At least give the free people of Bravos some choice. I'm not quite sure yet if you can add more people to your party, but from what I heard and from what I've seen thus far, I don't think you can do either of the two.

If you're looking for explosions, and lightning-quick movements, and Titans, and rhinos then this is your game! I'm not sure how the magic system works, I mean if you consume MP to cast a spell, or if you're using magic per unit, or if you can keeping casting to your hearts content. Oh but I'm sure of one thing, magic changes the environment! When you cast blizzard, the game invokes an actual blizzard to the scene. That's the coolest s**t I've seen! *cough* Excuse me. Weapons? What about weapons? Noctis wields multiple weapons in the game. You can assign a weapon to any button you so choose, this allows Noctis(Yes, it allows Noctis not you) to swap weapons during a combo. Meaning you can execute countless combinations of attack patterns. And don't forget the warping abilities! You can target a specific location in-game, Noctis throws a dagger at it and poof! You warp towards it. Pretty cool huh?

Photo-realistic

The graphics in this game is damn amazing. The city looks VERY realistic, the Guardian Forces you can summon is super awesome and the characters - the characters look like a bunch of boyband dudes who are out seeking for world domination. For real though. Anyway, back to the main topic. Everything in-game looks very realistic and I'm VERY impressed. I think I'm starting to love the next Gen gaming.

My Take

Taking into account all the pretty graphics, and explosions, and Titans, and the kick-ass combat system, the boyband, and the fact that it's open world - my take on this game is it's a  MUST HAVE game. I'm getting it. I don't have a PS4, that means I'm buying a PS4, which means this game is making me buy a PS4. The logic isn't there but hey, it's me. I mean why not? This could be the NEXT BIG THING from Square Enix after a very long while.
